Three things to internalise. One: place vocabulary — le cinéma, le théâtre, le musée, le café, le restaurant, le gymnase (m.); la piscine, la plage, la bibliothèque, la gare, l'école, l'université (f.). Each comes with its gender; the article reveals it. Two: location uses à + place, with the same contractions as Skill 02 (au cinéma, à la piscine, à l'hôpital, aux toilettes). The verb is usually aller (going to), être (being at), or an activity-specific verb. Three: matching activities to places — nager → à la piscine; voir un film → au cinéma; lire → à la bibliothèque; manger → au restaurant; nager / bronzer → à la plage. The pattern Je [verb] à la/au/à l' [place] is one of the most-used structures in conversational French.
